A Time to Strengthen Our State...
Louisiana has suffered devastating disasters followed by immense and rapid change. This has presented an opportunity to not only recover and rebuild, but to strengthen our state as a whole. We are a resilient people, possessing ingenuity, talents and pride. And now more than ever, the betterment of our state is tied directly to the quality of its leadership...civic, business, government and community. Understanding evolving public issues, recognizing opportunities, bold thinking, strong networks, models of success: these elements of leadership are needed to shape the long-term vision of communities; turn shifting economies into advantages, build on our strengths and areas of excellence, and continue efforts to address chronic issues.
Leadership Louisiana recognizes the need to assist civic-minded individuals in meeting these challenges. The nationally recognized program enhances the capacity of emerging or current leaders from across the state to effectively do so. All aspects of the program are designed to empower participants. Class members themselves serve to inspire and motivate, and the program has proven to build lasting relationships.
Leadership Louisiana leaves its graduates with a renewed commitment to their communities and state and with more access to strategic information, intellectual resources and a vast network of talented and successful individuals. With over 720 Alumni, the program is entering its 19th year. Alumni receive periodic updates and reports from CABL and are invited to special events. Many are nominated to state boards and commissions and all are included in the Alumni Online Directory. Alumni also frequently assist and participate in programs and events.
